Ena Bernice Benoit, age 68, of Statenville, Georgia passed away in the early morning hours on December 16, 2017 at home following a brave battle with cancer.

Bernice was born in Mayo, Florida on February 9, 1949 to the late Austin and Lonnie Smith Joyce. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse working primarily with home health agencies. Bernice made her home in Louisiana for almost 25 years before returning to Echols County.

She is preceded in death by her twin sister Mimi Jenice Joyce, sisters Jean Young, Geraldine Theriot, and Jeanette Tucker.

She is survived by her significant other Robert Carver, two daughters Judy Cribbs of Maurepas, LA, and Jean Cribbs (John) of El Paso, TX; five granddaughters Heather, Holly, Hallie, Starr, and Angel; one grandson Greywolffe; one great granddaughter; Heaven Rain; one brother James Joyce (Guadalupe) of Houston, TX; three sisters Sandra Giddens (Larry) and Karen Corbitt (Jimmy) of Statenville, GA  and Colleen Pilley of Maurepas, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Fruitland Church of God with Pastor Audrey Manac officiating.
