Ernie "Jake" Edwood Blanton Jr.

Ernie “Jake” Edwood Blanton Jr., 70, passed away suddenly at his home on June 7, 2026.

Jake was born on October 16, 1955, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Ernie Blanton Sr. and Joyce Weldon. He married his loving wife, Priscilla Sue Blanton, and together they raised three sons and built a life centered on family and faith.

Jake worked for Occidental (Nutrien) for 36 years, from 1975 until his retirement in 2008. After retiring, he enjoyed being outdoors, riding on the river in his boat, working on his ponds, and spending time with his family. He loved the Lord and was known for his kind and giving nature.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Ernie and Eloise Blanton; his mother, Joyce Weldon; and his brothers, David Blanton Sr. and Mike Blanton.

Jake is survived by his wife of 52 years, Priscilla Sue Blanton; his sons, Jimmy Blanton, Chris Blanton, and Brandon Blanton; his grandchildren, Jasmine, Jonathan, Aiden, Nicholas, and Laura Blanton; his sisters, Mary Blanton DeLoach and Beth Vickers (Rick); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services for Jake will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.
