Ethel B. Odum, age 80, of Jasper, FL. passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009 at her home following an extended illness. The Hamilton County native was born August 20, 1928 to the late John F. and Eugenia Bass. She worked for a number of years managing the Jiffy Store but will likely be remembered most for the years she spent caring for children in her home.
Survivors include three sons, George Johnson, Jasper, FL., John Odum and Jason Odum, both of Jasper, FL.; three daughters, Judie Johnson Dyke, Jasper, FL., Asonia Odum Clayton, Lake City, FL. and Lisa Odum Harris, White Springs, FL.; two sisters, Mabel B. Sowell, Jasper, FL. and Betty Mosley, Valdosta, GA.; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with Rev. Timmy Dyke officiating with Rev. Gerald Smith assisting. Rev. Stephen Haskell was in charge of graveside committal in Hebron Cemetery.
