Ethel V. Skipper, age 83, of O'Brien, FL. passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL. following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Skipper was born in Hamilton County to the late Johnny and Minnie Allen Hurst. She was a long time resident of Palatka, FL. where she worked for Central States Bag Factory and returned to Hamilton County where she made her home. Mrs. Skipper was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Skipper and a daughter, Ethel Armstrong.

Survivors include one son, Danny Skipper (Glenna), Palatka; three daughters, Minnie Jean Johnson (Jack), Palatka, FL., Debra Rice (Dave), Miami, FL. and Susan Dodson(James), Hampton, VA.; two sisters, Hazel Rowland, Ocala, FL. and Doris Hammond, Jasper, FL.; 15 grandchildren and 19 ½ great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, FL.

Interment will follow at a later date in Statenville Cemetery.
