Obituary

Mrs. Fannie Deloach Staten, age 88, of Statenville, Georgia passed away Monday, January 26, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia. The Echols County native and lifelong resident was the daughter of the late General Deloach and Lilly Bryant Deloach. She was a homemaker and member of Statenville United Methodist Church. As long as her health permitted she was an active member of the Echols County Senior Citizens. Mrs. Staten was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Ferman Staten, two sons, Jack and Bobby Don Staten and her brother, Walter Deloach.

She is survived by one son, Franklin Staten (Laverne), Statenville, GA.; three daughters, Grace Vickers (Bobby), Hahira, GA., Mary Bell Carter (Jackie), Statenville, GA., and Anne Adams, Valdosta, GA.; a daughter-in-law, Florence Staten, Statenville, GA.; and three sisters-in-law, Jean Deloach, Louise Staten and Joyce Staten, all of Statenville, GA.; 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, one great great grandson and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 29, 2009 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL. with Rev. Fred Foster and Rev. Carl Howard officiating. Mr. Carl Fulp gave the eulogy. Interment followed in Statenville Cemetery.
