Obituary

Farley McKee Cone, Sr., 81, of Jasper, FL, passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2025. He was born on April 11, 1944, in Madison, Florida, to the late James and Benie Cone.

Farley was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was married for 63 wonderful years to Doris Williamson Cone. Together, they built a life filled with faith, family, and simple joys. Farley was a skilled mechanic and proudly retired from PCS in White Springs, Florida.

A man of faith, Farley loved Jesus and was a faithful member of Divonia Baptist Church in Jasper. He also had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed riding horses, working cows, hunting—especially fox hunting—and spending time camping and riding the wagon trails. His happiest days were spent under open skies, surrounded by nature, family, and friends.

Farley was especially proud of his three sons—Chuck, James, and Ray—and the fact that all three served their country in the United States military. His pride in them was unwavering, and he cherished every moment with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Doris Williamson Cone; his sons, Farley "Chuck" Cone, Jr. (Nicole) of Milton, FL, James Cone (Candy) of Jasper, FL, and Ray Cone (Amanda) of Valdosta, GA; his sisters, Peggy Duncan, Mary Sublett (Bill), Joyce Wells (Andy), and Tammy Berger (Bob); his brothers-in-law, Johnny Carroll,  Bert Yarbrough (Linda), and Jim Miller; 11 grandchildren: Brittany, Michelle, B.J., Ridge, Trevor, Dallas, Nathan, Andrew, Ryan, Gabriel, and Alayna; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two beloved honorary sons, Chad Stephens and Scott Stewart, whom he loved as his own as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Farley was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmie Cone and Tommy Lee Cone; his sisters, Jean Carroll and Lavonne Browning; his nephew, Russell Duncan, and his great-granddaughter, Amelia Flannigan.

A funeral service to honor Farley's life will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville, Florida, in Madison County.

Farley's legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
