IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Faye Anne
Jones Godwin
December 19, 1936 – October 22, 2019
Faye Anne Godwin, age 82, of Jasper, FL. passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. following a brief illness.
Faye Anne was a native and lifelong resident of Hamilton County, FL. She was born on December 19, 1936 to the late William Albert "Jack" Jones Sr. and Lillian Blanche Roebuck Jones. Faye Anne was a graduate of Jasper High School and pursued a career in business finance. Early on she worked at IGA before securing a position with Ford Motor Company where she met her husband of 48 years, the late Willard J. Godwin. She would move on to work for Florida Power and joined her husband in business at G & P Trucking and G & P Auto Parts. Faye Anne was a meticulous bookkeeper long before computers. During tax season she took in work and did taxes for many of the local residents of Hamilton County. Faye Anne was a devout Christian and was a faithful member of Bright Pond Baptist Church. Her priorities were her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and taking care of her husband and three children. She loved sports and was always involved and in attendance when her children played sports. She herself was a fine athlete. She was an avid reader and excellent homemaker but was most certainly known best for what is referred to as "Faye Anne's Kitchen". She basically had an open-door policy for the children's friends to come and go for a good home cooked meal. She always made sure she had a little something special for the grandchildren after school and on weekends and she absolutely catered to their wishes when it came to favorite meals. Faye Anne was born into a large family and she enjoyed taking care of others. She considered herself blessed by family and friends when in fact, she was the blessing. She will indeed be missed by all who knew her. Faye Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Willard J. Godwin in September of 2013.
Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Karen Smith Godwin and Gary and Ginny Chandler Godwin, all of Jasper, FL.; her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila Gritz Swift and Ron Swift of Hosford, FL.; her brother, Clayton Jones and two sisters, Lillian Bembry and Geraldine Fisher, all of Jasper, FL.; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bright Pond Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1414, Jasper, FL. 32052.
