Flora E. Melton, age 90, of Jasper, FL. passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center. Flora was born in Dalton, Georgia on September 24, 1921 to the late John and Daisy Teasley Springfield. She made her home in Hamilton County for over 60 years. Mrs. Melton was predeceased by her husband Elder Dan Melton who served the area Primitive Baptist Churches for many years until his death in 1983. She was also predeceased by her two step daughters, Nettie Neal and Mary Martha Montgomery. Mrs. Melton loved her family very much and shared many hours with them in the comfort of her rocking chair on the front porch.

Survivors include her daughter, Daisy Vickers and her husband Harold, Jasper, FL.; one step-son, Robert Melton and his wife Mattie, White Springs, FL.; one sister, Betty Wheeler, Lake City, FL.; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia County.
