Frank Wetherington, 66, of Jennings, Florida, passed away on February 8, 2026, at South Georgia Medical Center.

Frank was born on November 22, 1959, in Valdosta, Georgia, and was raised in Cherry Lake, Florida. A proud graduate of Madison County High School, he carried his small-town roots with him throughout his life.

Frank was a true outdoorsman at heart. He felt most at peace in the deer woods before daylight, casting a line in the river, or riding four-wheelers with family and friends. The outdoors wasn’t just something he enjoyed — it was where he felt at home. He loved the simple things in life: good company, a good laugh, and time spent outside. He was also known for his love of his beloved fedoras, rarely seen without one, which became a signature part of his style. Those who knew him will remember his laid-back spirit, his love for adventure, and the way he could make any gathering feel comfortable and easy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Herbert Wetherington, Sr. and Mary Ann “Bobbie” Wetherington of Cherry Lake, whom he loved dearly.

Frank is survived by his siblings: Herb Wetherington (Sandra) of Boston, Georgia; Lester Wetherington and Debbie Wetherington of Lee, Florida; Joann Walker of Brooksville, Florida; Dianne Robinson of Quitman, Georgia; and Tina Adams (Brett) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many lifelong friends who will cherish the memories they shared with him. He was especially close to his niece, Lesley Walker Dunn, who held a special place in his heart.

Per his wishes, Frank will be cremated, and no formal services will be held.
