Frederick L. DeRocco, age 72, of Jasper, FL. passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Madison, FL. Mr. DeRocco was born in Ilion, New York on March 29, 1942 to the late Alfonso and Gertrude Potter DeRocco. He was a machinist and mechanic. As a young man he served his country in the United States Army. In 1989 he moved his family to Jasper, FL. from Immokalee, FL.

He worked with wood and could build anything. He shared this talent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In sharing amongst family members it was said that even though he was a double amputee Grandpa stood 10 feet tall. He made a lot of choices in his life but the greatest choice he made was accepting the Lord Jesus as his Savior. Mr. DeRocco loved his family and loved spending time with them. He will be missed.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Daisy DeRocco; three sons, Laddie DeRocco (Robin), Adam DeRocco (Susan) and Frederick DeRocco, Jr. (Bethany); four daughters, Ranie DeRocco, Sheila Young (Brian), Kathy Carlisle and Laurie Padgett; one brother, Sammy and two sisters, Mary Ann and Carol; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He had 3 great grandchildren "on the way".

Per his wishes, Mr. DeRocco was cremated.
