Obituary

Gary Lynn Ezell, 88, a resident of Jasper passed away on January 20, 2024.  Gary was born on December 1, 1935, in Rector, Arkansas to the late Franklin Ezell and the late Mozette Tidwell Ezell Scott and came to live with his loving Grandmother, the late Ethel Ezell at an early age.  He was a longtime resident of Campbell.

Gary married the love of his life, Wilma Lou Sale, on April 21, 1956 in Senatobia, MS.  Their enduring love story was a testament to their unwavering commitment to one another, a bond that remained unbroken even as they said their temporary good-byes when Wilma passed away on May 28, 2021.

While in West Palm Beach, Gary worked for McArthur Dairy, Rinker Materials, Big 3 hauling fuel for  the Apollo rockets and his favorite job working as a truck driver and container crane operator for Tropical Shipping at the Port of Palm Beach, eventually retiring to Jasper, FL.

Their faith was a cornerstone of their lives, Gary gave his life to Christ in 1961 and they found solace and fellowship at New Hope Baptist Church in Jennings, Florida, where they worshiped together and shared their faith with others.

Gary leaves behind a loving legacy that includes his sons, Randy and Penny Ezell of Orlando, FL, Michael "Mickey" and Rebecca Ezell of Loxahatchee, FL, and a daughter, Cheryl and James K. Speece of Hahira, GA, He is also survived by his brother, Dewayne Franklin Ezell, his stepbrother, Doyce Scott, his sister, Roxy Thompson (Ronnie), seven grandchildren, Summer Pridgen (Josh), Brittany Bennett (Jason), James K. Speece II (Allison), Jenna Overman (Matthew), Jacob M. Speece, David Breton and Heather O'Donnell; and his precious great-grandchildren, Taylor, Easton, Rylin, Blakely, Adalynn, Elijah, Averly, Josephine, Kinsley and Abigail.  Gary's family was his pride and joy, and his love for them knew no bounds.  In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and golfing.

A funeral service to celebrate Gary's life will be held at New Hope Baptist Church in Jennings, FL at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 26th, with a time of visitation starting just before the service at 10 a.m. Gary will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Wilma, in Campbell, Missouri.
