Gary Marlin Petro, age 56, of White Springs, Florida passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at his home. Gary was born on January 17, 1955 in Kittanning, PA., to the late Michael and Lillian Petro. He was a retired school teacher from Palm Beach County School System and was a former police officer of five years in Green Acres, FL. Mr. Petro moved to Lake City from West Palm Beach some five years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Christie L. Petro, White Springs, FL.; one son, Nicholas C. Petro (U.S. Navy Fighter Pilot) stationed in Meridian, MS., daughter-in-law, Taryn Petro, granddaughter, Clara; two brothers, Michael J. Petro and Thomas N. Petro of Pennsylvania and a sister, Arlene Petro of Orlando, FL.

Per his wishes, Mr. Petro will be cremated.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Suwannee Station Baptist Church with Pastor Wilbur Wood in charge.
