George Ingram Bell, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many, passed away on January 24, 2024, at the age of 70. He was a dedicated family man, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones.
George was born on August 7, 1953, in Day, FL to Herbert and Nonie Mae Bell, and began the life he was to spend in the North Florida area. He found the love of his life, Connie Hurst and exchanged vows with her in 1977. Their bond grew stronger with each passing day as they started a family and shared a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
George worked with the Florida Department of Corrections, serving several years with the K-9 Unit and then as a Lieutenant for Madison Correctional Institution. George and Connie were active members of the Madison Church of God, in Madison, FL, where they were part of the "Aged to Perfection Group." George also liked to spend time fishing and hunting, enjoying quiet moments by the water or in the woods. However, nothing brought George greater joy or happiness than his grandchildren. His heart overflowed with love for them, and he took great delight in watching them grow and flourish. He provided them with wisdom, love, and cherished memories that will forever be etched in their hearts.
George leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted wife Connie; his son, Thomas Bell (Rachel) of Jasper; three daughters, Brandi Bell of High Springs, Courtney Beck (Shain) of Jasper, and Franni Adams (Andrew) of Jasper; seven grandchildren, Trystyn (Mary), Landon, Elizabeth, Bronwyn, Ashtyn, Asher, and Quinn, as well as his great-grandchild, Flynn. He is also survived by his brother, Driscoll Bell of Day, FL, two sisters, Connie McClamma (Dennis) of Madison, and Rita Potter (John) of Gainesville.
A funeral service to celebrate George's life will be held at the Madison Church of God in Madison, Florida, on Saturday, January 27th, at 10:00 a.m. There will be a time of visitation just before the service, starting at 9:30 a.m. After the service, the family will hold a private interment. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Madison Passion Play c/o Madison Church of God.
