Funeral services were held Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Jennings Assembly of God Church. Interment followed at Community Cemetery in Cook County, Georgia near Adel.
G.L. was born in Adel, Georgia on September 25, 1934 to the late George and Minnie Gertrude Jones Selph. He worked most of his life as a station attendant back when filling stations took care of their customers. He knew what it was to meet and greet strangers from off of the interstate or just sit around the station visiting with the local town folks. If you had asked him, his real job was taking care of his prize chickens. This was the job he thoroughly enjoyed in life. G.L. was a member of Jennings Assembly of God Church. He missed making 60 years of marriage by only six days with the love of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie Selph, Jennings, FL.; one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Vonda Selph, Lake Park, GA.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and James Hinton of Jasper, FL. and Sherrie and William "Buck" Brown of Valdosta, GA.; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
