George Bernice Hogan, born on November 1, 1940, in White Springs, Florida, passed away suddenly yet peacefully on December 31, 2025, at Haven Hospice in Lake City, Florida. He was 85 years old.
George dedicated over four decades of his life to working as a mechanic at Nutrien (formerly known as PCS or Occidental), where his exceptional skills and steadfast commitment earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
A long-standing member of Bright Pond Baptist Church, George held a deep-seated faith that guided him throughout his life. He was married to Pauline Hogan for 52 wonderful years until her passing in 2014, a union that defined his life and filled it with love. His warmth, outgoing personality, and zest for life endeared him to all who knew him.
George had a passion for the outdoors, reveling in the pursuits of fishing and hunting. He recently celebrated a remarkable achievement, having successfully hunted a ten-point deer in November 2025. He often enjoyed these adventures alongside his great friend, Joe Lee. An avid fan of the Florida Gators, George also had a deep appreciation for bluegrass music, which added rhythm to his life and gatherings.
His family legacy includes his two sons, David (the late Rose Marie) Hogan and Jeffrey (Christie) Hogan, along with his grandson, Jordan (Tori) Hogan and his sister, Evelyn Adams. He is also survived by his loving nephew Chris (Becky) Hogan and niece Katie (Michael) Hahn.
George joins in eternal rest his beloved wife, Pauline Hogan; his parents, James and Mary Emma Hogan; his brother, Herbert Hogan; Warren Hogan; and Special friend Joe Lee whom passed away earlier this year.
Services in George's honor will take place on January 6, 2026, at Bright Pond Baptist Church, located at 6233 North West U.S. Highway 41, Jasper, FL, with a visitation at 10 am and the funeral starting at 11 am. Following the funeral an internment service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL. His family welcomes all who knew and loved George to come together to celebrate his life and legacy.
