George Lamar Roberson, age 87, of Jasper, FL. passed away at his home on September 25, 2022 following an extended illness.
George Lamar was the last surviving child that was born to the late George Laburn and Eva Lavoyce Henderson Roberson. He was a Navy veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Korean Conflict. He worked for a number of years for his Uncle, Ross Henderson, who owned his own funeral home. George Lamar worked in the funeral business as a funeral attendant until he branched out on his own. George Lamar became a well-known safety engineer in the industrial construction industry. He retired after many years to move back to the farm in Jasper, travel and enjoy life with his wife, the late Nelly Krosschell Roberson. In addition to his wife, George Lamar was preceded in death by his sons, George Edward Nation (Roberson) "Eddie", Wendell Lamar Nation (Roberson) and John David Nation (Roberson); brothers and sisters, Lillian Wyonnia "Sally" Roberson Dodge, William Chester Roberson, Sr., Millage Dean Roberson, Freddie Joe Roberson and Martin Lee Roberson, Sr.
Survivors include children of their blended family, Gina Roberson, Paul Morrison (Lisa), Terry Morrison (Gigi) and Paula Ruden (Steve); a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren survive. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Advent Christian Church in Jasper, FL. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper.
Harry T Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, FL. was in charge of arrangements.
