George T. Sowell, Sr., age 91, of Jasper, FL. passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in Lake City, Florida. Mr. Sowell was born in Miami, Florida on Sept. 19, 1921 to the late George H. and Hattie Norris Sowell. Mr. Sowell was served his country in the United States Armed Forces. He was a retired carpenter/electrician. He was predeceased by his wife Mabel Bass Sowell on November 2, 2012.
Survivors include two sons, George Sowell, Jr. and his wife Jeanette of Pensacola, FL. and John David Sowell, Sr., and his wife Linda of Jasper, FL.; one sister, Ruby Bass, Jasper, FL.; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL.
Interment followed Evergreen Cemetery.
