George W. Stuhl, age 87, of Jasper, FL. passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Ga. following a brief illness.

George was a native of Camden, New Jersey. He joined the United States Armed Services at the age of 16 and was a career veteran having served in both the United States Army and retiring from the United States Navy. He was the proud father of four children that can boast of being born in four different states courtesy of his dedication and willingness to travel wherever service to his country took him.
Following his retirement from the Navy, George worked for Pantry Pride as a meat buyer and later for a time at Walmart. One passion he took away from the service was a gypsy spirit, one that kept him on the road traveling with his wife and family. He was a generous man and one that dearly loved his family. George valued spending as much time with his children and grandchildren as he could. His love for sports revolved around the Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies and his passion for music could not be narrowed to just one genre, he enjoyed them all.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Karen Dickinson Stuhl; his two sons, George Stuhl, Jr. (Jon Herring) of Tampa, FL. and William Joseph "Billy" Stuhl and his wife Michelle of Jacksonville, FL.; his two daughters, Cheryl August of Jasper, FL. and Drena Kantz and her husband Kevin of New Jersey; four sisters, Ruth Cave, Margaret Smith, Edith Auletto and Kathy Marion, all of New Jersey; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great-grandson. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL. Interment will follow in Hebron Cemetery in Jasper.

The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home beginning at 10:30.
