Georgia Ruth Rewis, age 79, of Statenville, GA. passed away at her home after a lengthy illness on Sunday, September 1, 2013. She was born in Florence, S.C. on November 17, 1933 to Herbert and Lessie Cantey and moved to Statenville at an early age.
Survivors include three children, Jack Rewis (Teisha), John Rewis and Wally Rewis (Teresa), all of Statenville, GA.; one sister, Margaret Bennett (Charles) of Stockton, GA.; two brothers, James Cantey and David Cantey, both of Statenville, GA.; seven grandchildren, April Thornton (Bobby), T.J. Rewis, Jonathon Rewis, Jodi Rewis, Ashley Lusk, Victoria Sowell and Nicole Rewis; two great-grandchildren, Abby Thornton and Brantley Bullard. She was prceded in death by her husband, Walter Rewis, one sister, Christine Cantey and two brothers, Edward Cantey and Heyward Cantey.

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Rewis Cemetery with Rev. Ted Sauls officiating.

Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
