Gracie Colita Stone Nichols, age 95, a former resident of Jasper, FL. passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the home of her daughter in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Corinth Baptist Church near Jasper, FL. with interment in the church cemetery.


Gracie Colita was born on September 6, 1921 near Jasper to the late James and Ottie Harrell Stone. She lived on the farm most of her life and worked hard to make her house a home for her husband and children. Several years ago, she made the move to Stone Mountain to live with her daughter. Although she would never forget Jasper, she soon made Stone Mountain her home. Colita was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Cleon Nichols and a grandson, Shaun Nichols. Also preceding her in death are brothers, Israel Stone and James Stone and sisters, Marie Musgrove and Edith Goolsby.

Survivors include her daughter, Nora Ann Nichols Black, Stone Mountain, GA.; two sons, Charles "Buddy" Nichols and his wife Linda and Willie Norman Nichols and his wife Inez, all of Jasper, FL.; one sister, Lucille Stone Smith, also of Jasper; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren,  four great great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
