IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hansel Dewey
Williamson
December 17, 1942 – January 10, 2021
It is with great sorrow that we announce Hansel Dewey Williamson, 78, of Bonita Springs, Florida left his earthly home on January 10, 2021.
Born on December 17, 1942 in Sarasota, Florida, Hansel was the son of Dewey Williamson and Evelyn Albritton Williamson who both preceded him in death. He leaves behind his wife of 36 years Eugenia (Paar) Williamson, son Gregory Williamson, and daughter-in-law Jennifer Alberti as well as his siblings Lillie Boyd, Margaret Pike, Robert (Red) Williamson, David Williamson and Tonya Williamson and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister Adela Bennett and brothers Raymond Williamson, Ronnie Williamson, Daniel Williamson, and Samuel Williamson.
Hansel served his country proudly as a distinguished member of the United States Navy, honorably discharged in 1968. Hansel headed north after his years in the Navy and became a truck driver transporting heavy equipment up until his retirement in 2015.
He lived in Massachusetts most of his life where he earned the nickname "Rebel" due to his forthright manner and southern roots and was a great fan of sports, especially football. He enjoyed gathering with friends and family as well as solitary contemplation by the creek. He was quick to joke with everyone and share a snarky comment but was always there for those he cared for when the moment called for it.
Per his wishes, Hansel will be laid to rest alongside his family with no funeral service. To those who know and remember him, please raise a toast in honor of him and share your fondest memories.
