Harold Carlton Caldwell, Sr. of Parker, Florida was called home by his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. Carlton was born on January 27, 1928 in Jasper, Florida to Ben M. Caldwell, Sr. and Tobitha Clardy Caldwell. He grew up working in the family's printing and newspaper business, publishing The Jasper News. When he was 16, a new girl, Carolyn Ann Overstreet, moved to town and as soon as he met her, he knew she was to become the love of his life. They were married on July 2, 1949 and for the next 24 years he served in the military while he and Ann raised their family. Following two years in the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division, he entered the US Air Force. Recognizing his printing background, the Air Force assigned him to the printing career field. He was a long-time supervisor in the Tyndall AFB print shop. After retiring from the Air Force, he briefly ran the print shop at Gulf Coast Community College before returning to Tyndall AFB as a civil servant. The most important aspect of his life was his family; he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
