Helen Rose Swink, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and friend, was carried home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 15, 2023, at the age of 80. She was born on June 28, 1943, in Montrose, Arkansas, to Earl Durham and Gladys Ray Durham. Helen was married to her beloved husband, Siegle Leroy Swink, and together they shared a lifetime of love, faith, and service to God and their community and were a testimony with their faithful 64 years of marriage.
Helen and Leroy were faithful, founding members of Tabernacle of God's Love in Jennings, FL, where they found solace, fellowship, and a shared purpose. Helen's deep love for her church and her unwavering commitment to mission work were at the core of her life. She served as a beacon of kindness and compassion, known affectionately as "Mama" to everyone she met, including strangers. Helen's heart and arms were wide open to "adopting" people from all over the world. Many were blessed to be called her "babies", "sons" and "daughters", regardless of nationality and despite all language barriers. To countless little ones, she was also known as "Grandma" or "Abuela".
Helen had a passion for helping people in need. She generously bought food, clothes and blankets and gave to individuals of all races and backgrounds, leaving an indelible mark on the thousands of lives she touched. Her acts of kindness and selflessness were a testament to her character and her dedication to making the world a better place by being a true Proverbs 31 woman.
Helen Swink is survived by her devoted husband, Siegle "Leroy" Swink, her daughters, Sherry Lee Glass of Seattle, WA, and Connie Lynn Sosa (Armando) of Jennings, FL, three grandchildren, Nathaniel, Zachary and Gunnar, and three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jameson and Jackson. Helen was welcomed to Heaven by her son, Tracy Adam Swink, and four brothers: Jack Durham, Jim Durham, Vance Durham, and Benny Durham, her beloved parents and many other family members and loved ones.

A funeral service to celebrate Helen's life will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Tabernacle of God's Love in Jennings, FL, at 2:00 PM, with a visitation starting just prior to the service at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL.
Helen Swink's legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate to know her. She now has everlasting peace and life in the loving arms of her Savior and is free to run on streets of gold.
