Henry Lucius Lee "Nip", age 96, of Jasper, FL. passed away at his home in Jasper on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 following an extended illness.
Henry was born on July 4, 1917 in Clinch County, Georgia to the late Lucius and Nancy Richardson Lee. He was a former resident of Homerville and Lakeland, Georgia before moving to Jasper. In 1946 he married the love of his life, Marjorie Griner. "Nip" as he was lovingly referred to by all who knew him, worked tirelessly for 56 years at the local Chevrolet Dealership, retiring only recently due to failing health. He broke in many new employees and a couple of owners over the many years he was employed there. Nip sold and resold cars to people all over North Florida, South Georgia and beyond. He became a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jasper on September 28, 1947. Henry Lee was a man of integrity and could be counted on when called upon. He was also a member of the Methodist Men's Club and the Jasper Lions Club. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Marjorie Griner Lee of Jasper, FL.; two sons, Charles Henry Lee and his wife Barbara of Maggie Valley, North Carolina and Christopher Thomas Lee of Jasper; four grandchildren, Stephanie Lee, Joshua Lee, Elbert Carter, Jr. and Richie Carter; three great grandchildren, Allen Lee, Zachary Lee and Spencer Carter.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 25, 2014 at Jasper First United Methodist Church in Jasper, FL. with the Rev. Dale Ames officiating.
Interment fpllowed at Arabia Cemetery near Homerville, GA.
