Mr. Jack Talmadge Bennett, age 83, of Mayday, Georgia passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Shands at U.F. Hospital in Gainesville, FL.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Mayday with interment in the church cemetery.

Jack was a native of Axson, Georgia born September 18, 1933 to the late Jesse and Sally Bennett. He was the owner and operator of Jack's Grocery Store until he retired. Farming became his new full time job, one that he enjoyed as long as his health permitted. Jack served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a member of a The Church of God of Prophecy in Homerville, GA.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Jean Zeigler Bennett; two sons, Carroll Bennett and his wife Latrice of Valdosta, Georgia and Jackie Bennett of Madison, FL.; one daughter, Peggy Pittman and her husband Ronnie of Valdosta, GA.; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
