Obituary

Jack Raymond Rye, Jr., age 77, of Jasper, FL. passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, FL. following a brief illness.

Jack was a native and longtime resident of Suwannee County, FL. born to the late Jack and Ruth Tyre Rye. He worked for the University of Florida/USDA as an entomologist for over 30 years. Following his retirement, he lived for a number of years in Hamilton County before returning to Live Oak where he lived out the rest of his days. Jack was raised with seven other brothers and sisters, living what is currently referred to as "the country life". It was not always easy but the brothers and sisters loved each other deeply and were always there for each other when the chips were down but that is not to say there weren't some big fights in that little house in the country. Living out those days made Jack the man that he was. He learned by example to take care of his own children when he they were born and hard work and providing for them was important to him. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tommy Rye and sisters, Evelyn Skeen and Brenda Arnold.

Survivors include his daughters, Angela Driggers (Clark) and Candace Rye and his son, Michael Vincent Green; his three brothers, Wilbur Rye, James Rye and Charles Rye; his sister, Ruby Jones; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were held on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Rosemary Baptist Church in Suwannee County, FL. with Bro. Jerry Tyre officiating.
