It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jacob Michael Johns, who left this world far too soon on August 8, 2024, at the age of 16. Jacob was born on February 13, 2008, to Tim Johns and Valerie Heck, and he grew up in Jasper, Florida.

Jacob was a bright young man who attended Hamilton County High School and was eagerly looking forward to starting his Junior year. He was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. Jacob loved spending time with his friends, whether they were fishing, playing basketball, or throwing the football around. His passion for the outdoors and sports was evident in every moment he spent with those he cared about.

Jacob is survived by his loving parents, Tim Johns and Valerie Heck, both of Jasper; his brother, Timothy Johns of Jasper; his sisters, Kalynda Heck of Jasper, Aryanna Schrier of Arkansas, and Kassie Corby of Texas. He also leaves behind two cherished nephews, Dustin and Hunter Johns, as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Jacob's life will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hamilton County Courthouse Annex, formerly Hamilton County High School, in Jasper. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. before the service. Following the service, Jacob will be laid to rest at Good Hope Cemetery, Good Hope Road, Naylor, GA 31641.

Jacob's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered for his love of life, his infectious spirit, and the many lives he touched during his short time on this earth.
