James Dale Allen, 62, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, at Haven Hospice in Lake City, Florida after a courageous battle of pancreatic cancer . Dale was a native of Live Oak, Florida, and graduated from Suwannee High School in 1978. He was employed as an electrician at PCS Phosphate for 35 years and a Correctional Officer at Suwannee Correctional Institute for the past 12 years.

Dale always believed in supporting the youth of his hometown. He served as a Board Member of the Suwannee Youth Livestock, where for the past 20 years you could find him during the Hog Show and Sale in the barn calling for hogs and their owners to line up. He served on the Suwannee Parks and Recreation Board where he first started his coaching career and was past FFA Alumni Member.

Dale has served on the Suwannee Quarterback Club Board of Directors as Vice-President and President since the creation of the club and was one of the voices for the "Coaches Show" for the Suwannee High Bulldogs.

Dale is survived by the love of his life, Pam Johnson Allen . The two were married for 39 years.  Also surviving are s ons, Ryne Allen (Cherie), and Bryne Allen (Brandy), and a grandson, Brock Jameson Allen. His mother, Nancy Chapman Allen ; t wo sisters, Debbie Solano (Mike) and Laurel Merritt (Steve) ; a brother Lanny Cheek (Patty). In addition , a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, I.J Allen.

Visitation for Dale will be on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Daniels Funeral Home. Services will be on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Live Oak, Family Life Center. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery.
