Mr. James F. Bell, age 98, of Jasper, FL. passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center where he has made his home for many years.

James "Jim" was born in Jasper, FL. on January 3, 1923 to the late Frank and Fannie Strickland Bell. He joined the United States Navy and served his country as a gunner. Jim worked for many years at Jasper Laundry. He enjoyed square dancing as long as he could go and always enjoyed the activities at the nursing home. He could usually be found sitting on the front sofa at the front doors of the nursing home and served as what one might call an unofficial greeter. After his many years at the laundry, he of course knew everyone in town and so in his unofficial capacity, he could meet, greet and direct them to nearly anyone they wanted to visit. Mr. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Bell.

Survivors include his children, Darlene Walls, Sonya Cooper and Mickey Phillips and her husband George who became a son to Jim. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL.
There will be no formal visitation.
