James Carl Clevenger, born December 13, 1943, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, passed away on February 23, 2024. He was the beloved son of Annie Cundiff. James valiantly served his country as a Vietnam War veteran, dedicating six years of his life to the United States Marine Corps.
James had a zest for life and very much enjoyed being in the great outdoors. Whether it was hunting or fishing or watching football, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm and joy. James had a degree in forestry and worked 32 years at Homes of Merit in Lake City, FL as Head of Engineering. He was a dedicated member of Parkview Baptist Church in Lake City, FL and often enjoyed taking trips with other seniors from the church.
James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Clevenger. He is survived by his devoted son, David Clevenger (Kathleen "Casey") of Lake City, his daughters, Cindy Bonds (John) and her children, Jarred, Julian, and Jacob and Joann "Jodi" Clevenger, all of Lake City, Florida. He also leaves behind a legacy through his one great-grandchild, Bodhi, who will carry his memory forward with love and admiration.
In recognition of his honorable life and sacrifices made, a funeral service will be held at Parkview Baptist Church on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 11 a.m. in Lake City, Florida. A visitation will precede the service at 10:00 a.m. Following the service, interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, Florida
James Carl Clevenger will forever be remembered for his unwavering dedication, his love for his family, and his commitment to serving his country. May he rest in eternal peace.
