Obituary

ames Rodney Fourakers, age 82, former resident of Jasper, FL. passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Corinth Road Personal Care Home in Newnan, GA.

Rodney was a native and longtime resident of Hamilton County. He went to work in the public arena for Continental Can Company and later, Occidental Chemical Company (PCS/Nutrien) in White Springs. After leaving Occidental, Rodney opened a storefront "Rodney's Hardware" and was able to provide a variety of goods for the hometown folks for several years but decided after some time to close the doors and go to work at the new prison that was coming to Jasper. Rodney indeed was hired and worked out his years to retirement age at Hamilton Correctional Institution. Rodney and his wife Ruby were faithful members of the First Baptist Church in Jasper, FL. until he moved to Georgia where he enjoyed attending Heatherwood Baptist and Crossroads Baptist Churches in Newnan. Rodney shared 42 beautiful years with his wife, the late Ruby Yates Fourakers until her passing in April of 2003.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Linda Fouraker of Puyallup, WA; one daughter and son-in-law, Roni and Ron Kalec of Sharpsburg, GA.; one brother, Richard and his wife Mattie of White Springs, FL.; two sisters, Lucille Brown, Jasper, FL. and Alma Bembry, Adel, GA.; four grandchildren, Ricky Fouraker, Courtney Hunt, Garrett Fouraker and Kaiya Kalec; one great granddaughter, Willow Hunt.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 21, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Jasper, FL.
Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper.
