James Michael "Mike" Moody, age, 69, of Jasper, FL. passed away on December 21, 2019 peacefully, with his family by his side, at his home in Jasper following an extended illness.

Mike was a native of Hamilton County, born on February 23, 1950 to the late Elmer and Mary R. Wilson Moody. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mike served as a guard on the DMZ zone between North and South Korea and received Letters of Commendation for his service.

Mike worked hard from a young age, starting in the tobacco fields in Jasper. He worked numerous jobs; including stocking groceries at the old Suwannee Store, a butcher at the Piggly Wiggly in Valdosta, GA., and construction in Daytona Beach, but found his niche in life as a very successful local Real Estate Agent from which he retired. Mike was a member of the Kiwanis Club and a former Jasper Chamber Secretary/Treasurer.  When Mike was not working, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating on the Suwannee River, gardening and reading. Mike was preceded by his parents, brothers, Shelton and William Moody and a nephew, Timothy Wayne Moody.

Survivors include his son, Ruste Morgan (Mandy); one brother, Ronnie Moody; three sisters, Cathy Dobbs (Tommy), Ellie Harper (Dennis) and Dorothy Holton (Grant); four grandchildren, Ryan (Emily), Riley, Adalyn and Alyvia; two great grandchildren, Raileigh and Saylor; special nephew, Donald Moody (Tammy) and special niece, Kim Webb (Mark); in addition, many nephews, nieces and great friends.

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Hebron Cemetery off of CR 51 in Jasper with Pastor Jason Love officiating.
