James Nelson, age 69, of Jasper, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center, where he had made his home for the past two and a half years. Born on September 8, 1955, in Newton, Texas, James was the son of the late Robert and Barbara Nelson.

James was a joyful soul with a kind heart and an easy smile. He spent his early years in Texas and lived in several places throughout his life before settling in Jasper. As a young boy in Abilene, Texas, James met a sweet little girl named Sherry. She became the love of his life and his cherished companion until her passing just a few years ago. He spoke of her often and adored her deeply.

James had a gift for conversation. He loved meeting new people, offering compliments, and brightening the day of those around him. His cheerful nature and friendly spirit made a lasting impression on both caregivers and friends, and he will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

James is survived by his three loving sisters: Kerryn Ballard (James Jackman) of Quitman, GA; Barbara Nelson of Dallas, TX; and Melinda Sandvick (Alan) of Vidor, TX.
