IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janice Sue
Smith
September 11, 1955 – January 21, 2024
Janice Sue Smith, born on September 11, 1955, to Kirby and Gussie Robinson, passed away at the age of 68. A lifelong resident of Hamilton County, FL, she enjoyed simple pleasures and had a deep love for her family.
Throughout her life, Janice found joy in the beauty of the outdoors. She loved fishing, hunting, and had a knack for searching for arrowheads. Her green thumb was evident in her well-tended yard, where she poured her heart into creating a beautiful and welcoming space.
Janice's greatest passion, however, was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Smith, and her children: Chuck Smith (Candace) of Jasper, Dandy Ross of Tallahassee, Kevin Ross (Sally) of Jacksonville, and Carol Charles (David). Her sisters, Myrtle Smith (Jasper), Jan Hunter (Hugh), and Brenda Thompkins (Jerry), also held a special place in her heart.
Janice's legacy continues through her three cherished grandchildren: Emily, Zane, and Savannah, as well as three great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will take place at New Hope Church Cemetery in Jennings, FL, on Thursday, January 25th at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Kidney Foundation or to diabetes research.
