Mrs. Janice Smith, age 88, of Jasper, FL. passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at her home following an illness of some time.

Funeral services were held on Monday, December 16, 2019 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL.

Janice was a native of Douglas, Georgia, born August 3, 1931 to the late Jesse and Annie Mae Carver Smith. She was a homemaker that enjoyed sewing for her children, quilting and arts and crafts. She was a former resident of Callahan, FL. Janice was preceded in death by her husband Jesse J. Smith, her son, James Darrell Smith, a brother, James Smith, sisters, Betty Turpin and Jessie Dassie.. She was a faithful member of Suwannee Station Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Francis Smith (Linda) of Alma, GA and Jesse Wilson Smith (Donna) of Euharlee, GA.; one daughter, Janice Lauer (Mike) of Jasper, FL.; one brother, Jerry Smith and two sisters, Doris and Ruth; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
