Jean Young, age 78, of Howell, Georgia passed away November 29, 2013. Jean was born March 7, 1934 to Austin and Lonnie Joyce. Jean was Vice President of Operations for Morrison's for over 35 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55 years, Robert Young and a sister, Geraldine Theriot.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Hamby of Howell, GA; grandchildren, Tyrone Sasser, Americus, GA., Corey and Katie Sasser, Brunswick, GA., and Dannette and Michael Nitschke, Statenville, GA.; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Austin, Dillon, Kaleigh and River Sasser, Dakota Harper and Kaitlin Nitschke; one brother, James Austin Joyce of Houston, TX; four sisters, Jeanette Tucker, Bernice Benoit, Sandra Giddens (Larry) and Karen Corbitt (Jimmy), all of Statenville, GA.

Per her wishes, Jean will be cremated.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Statenville Baptist Church.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Halcyon Hospice and Interpid USA Nursing Service.
