Jeanne Anne Howard Costa, age 88, of Jennings, FL. passed away in MacClenny, FL. early Saturday morning February 2, 2013 surrounded by her family. Ms. Costa was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on December 24, 1924 to the late Walter and Leona Kurtz Maderia. Following graduation from high school, Jeanne joined up with the Cadet Corps and earned her Registered Nursing Degree. She met and married Miller Johnny Howard to whom she was married to for 39 years. They had a lovely family together and worked hard to make life good for their children until his death in 1985. Jeanne was fortunate enough to find love again when she met and married Edward Costa and the two lived comfortably together until his death in 2000. She was extremely fortunate to have her nursing degree and was able to provide for herself the rest of her days. Jeanne was a longtime resident of Homosassa, FL. before moving to Jennings, FL. to live with her daughter about ten years ago. She was a member of Burnham Christian Church and loved her church. Sadly Ms. Costa was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald Gene Mathos.

Survivors include three sons, John W. Howard(Betty Sue), St. George, GA., Carl J. Howard, Homosassa, FL. and Paul G. Howard (Vellena), of Alaska; two daughters, Leona Kay Mathos (Ed), Jennings, FL. and Millie Trevino (Eddie), Rockwall, Texas; 21 grandchildren, 25great grandchildren (two on the way) and 2 great great-grandchildren (two on the way).

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Burnham Christian Church with Pastor Johnny Brown officiating.

Per her wishes, Ms. Costa will be cremated following the service and will be laid to rest with her husband Johnny at Fountain's Memorial Park near Homosassa, FL.
