IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeannette Gail
Parrish
May 14, 1952 – March 21, 2025
Jeannette Gail Parrish, 72, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, at Lake City Medical Center in Florida. Born in Lyons, Georgia, to Willard and Alma (Jones) Jackson, Jeannette was one of seven children. She spent her later years in Jasper, Florida, a place she called home and where her warm spirit left a lasting impression on many.
Jeannette was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Sabrina Lynn Whitehead; her brothers, Ray and Walter Jackson; and her sister, Barbara Copeland. She is survived by her sisters Margaret and Gloria Pruitt and Sabrina Jarriel, who will carry her memory forward with love.
She leaves behind three cherished grandchildren: Justin Mark Seebech of Tampa, Jessica Jay Incardona of Tampa, and Karen Lee Roberts of Valdosta. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren—Bryanna Page Evans, Hannah Marie Vanek, and Ruby Mindy Lyn Rivera—and her great-great-grandson, Jaxston David Evans.
Jeannette's heart was as generous as it was kind. While living in Connecticut, she devoted her time to the Salvation Army, serving meals to those in need. She had a special talent for making friends wherever she went and a deep appreciation for life's little treasures. Known for her flair for fashion—especially jewelry and unique finds from thrift stores or "tag sales" as she lovingly called them—Jeannette always found joy in the simple things.
Her lifelong best friend, Shirley Wiggins, said it best:
"Jeanette made friends easily and was generous. She worked at the Salvation Army when she was in Connecticut helping serve meals to the needy. She liked going to tag sales, as she learned to call yard sales after living in the north. Jeannette loved fashionable clothes, even if they were obtained from a thrift store. She absolutely loved her jewelry."
Her granddaughter, Karen Lee Roberts, fondly remembers:
"She was the best grandmother in the world. My childhood memories are filled with her taking me to tag sales, the library, the Salvation Army to help serve food. We loved playing dress-up and playing with my toys. Grandma and Poppy's apartment in Connecticut was my favorite place to be growing up. I remember the love her and my Poppy (Bruce Rose) had for each other. She loved my mom (Sabrina Lynn Whitehead) more than anything in the world."
In accordance with her wishes, Jeannette's ashes will be laid to rest alongside her daughter Sabrina on her home property in Jasper, Florida.
As her favorite song reminds us:
"I can see clearly now, the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way.
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-shiny day."
Jeannette Gail Parrish's light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
