Jerry Kersey, age 54, of Jasper, FL. passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Shands U.F.

Jerry is the son of Solomon and Bessie Leonard Kersey born February 7, 1962 in Brunswick, GA.

As a young man, Jerry served his country in the United States Army. He was a millwright and was employed at Langdale Forest Products in Valdosta for 17 years until his health took a sudden turn. With much prayer and therapy Jerry's health was restored. He enjoyed fishing and outdoor with his three sons. Jerry was an auxiliary deputy for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and considered them his second family. He attended of the Azalea City Church of God.
Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Solomon Kersey, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Michelle Hart Kersey and his three sons, Joshua, Caleb and Noah Kersey, all of Jasper, FL.; his parents, Solomon and Bessie Kersey, Valdosta, GA.; his sister-in-law, Charmaine Kersey and nephews, Chad and Bryan, all of Valdosta, GA.; his father-in-law, Wayne Hart; mother-in-law, Lynn Evans; brothers-in-law, Jason and Billy Hart; sisters-in-law, Jerri Barnes and Evelin Burnam. Numerous cousins also survive.

Memorial services were held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL. with Pastor Brett officiating.


Due to Jerry's extended illness, in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family to assist with ongoing financial needs.
