Jessie Lee Wise of Jacksonville Beach, FL, age 82, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2010. She was born in Adel, GA, and lived most of her life in Jasper, FL, until moving in 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Wise and a sister Faye Baker.
Jessie was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. Her main passion was her family and she gave them unconditional love and nurturing. Her laughter and humor made a difference to all that loved her.
In her earlier years, Jessie enjoyed equestrian sports and received numerous awards for achievements on 100 mile endurance rides. She loved animals, gardening, cooking, writing, and helping others. In Jessie's later years she became an accomplished author with four published award winning novels.
Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie DiCarlo (Joe) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL., Judi Reid of Jasper, FL., and Sue Smith (Dan) of Satellite Beach, FL.; seven grandchildren, Robyn Weise (Drew), Stephanie Lee, Joshua Lee (Jennifer), Andy Smith, Justin Smith, Katy Reid Kuhlmann (Joshua) and J. Reid; four great-grandchildren, Jordan Weise, Jalen Weise, Allen Lee and Zachary Lee; one brother, Paul Joiner, Lenox, GA.; and her caring canine companion Lucky.
Jessie's family will always have a love for her that is reserved for only the most special Mothers in heaven. We will forever miss her.
A graveside service was held Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010 at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper with Rev. Bill Platt officiating.
