Joan Fiesler Gritz, passed away at her home on June 11, 2022 surrounded by her family.

Joan was born in Huntington Island, New York on October 20, 1935. She was dedicated to being a faithful wife and help-mate to her husband William "Bill" Gritz and a loving and dedicated mother to her four children.

Joan's husband Bill served his country in the United States Navy and soon after, he went to work for Florida Power. At the time, they resided in St. Petersburg, FL. but in 1955 Bill was ask to take a new post in Jasper. Joan was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom and enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing counted cross-stitch, reading, playing cards and she was always ready on Saturday night to go out to dinner with her church friends. She was a faithful member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Jasper as long as her health permitted. Joan loved babies and so she was delighted as each of her six grandchildren entered the world and she always looked forward to having one more baby to rock. Joan was predeceased by her husband, Bill Gritz, her son, Kelly Gritz, her grandson, Jeffrey Bennett and her only brother, John David Fiesler.

Survivors include her son, Jeff Gritz (Carolyn) of Jennings, FL.; her two daughters, Maureen Daniels (Jimmy) of Jasper, FL. and Virginia "Ginny Hunter (Michael) of Live, FL.; six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Per her wishes, Joan was cremated. There will be no formal service per her request.
