Joda William Newsome , Jr. – October 23, 1938 – September 10, 2021

Joda went on to be with Jesus on Friday September 10, 2021. He was born October 23, 1938 in Jennings, Florida to Joda W. Newsome Sr. and Ruth Lucille Mathis. He was also affectionately known as "Billy" or "Willie-T" to many. He was raised in Hamilton County and graduated from Jennings High School in 1956. Following high school he joined the United States Air Force, serving his country for four years.  He enjoyed many profession s from insurance agent to l ong haul tr uck d river to racing agent.  He was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and crafting from nature. His favorite pastime was making others laugh. Joda came to know the Lord later in life and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Tommy E. Newsome and Barney J. Newsome , daughter Julia Newsome Pritt.  He is survived by brother Daniel L. Newsome ; sisters Joanne N. Knight, Paul, Linda N. Ehlert , Mary N. Blalock, John, Nell N. Lynn, Robert, Jamie L. Newsome, Dianna N. Woodard, Scotty, and LaDonna N. Wagers, Scott ; daughter Paula N. Willis ; three grandchildren Maleah Hinbaugh , Riley Willis and Joda Pritt.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date so family and friends may remember and honor our beloved brother, father, friend
