Mr. Joe Herbert Gilliam, age 73, of Jennings, Florida passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at Orlando Regional Hospital in Orlando, FL. Mr. Gilliam was born in Anderson, South Carolina in 1936 to the late Jasper and Abelina Gilliam. He was a retired auto mechanic. The Gilliam family moved to Hamilton County in the mid 1990's from Ocala, FL. He was preceded in death by daughter, Sonya Campbell.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Gilliam, Jennings; two sons, Johnny Gilliam, Adel, GA., and Joe Gilliam, Ocala, FL.; five daughters, Brenda Gilliam, Jasper, FL., Lisa Persell, April Moore and Betty Bullock, all of Ocala, FL., and Mary Ellen Brown, Clyattville, GA.; one sister, Wilma Carter, Atlanta, GA.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Lake Park Cemetery with Rev. Keith Sandlin officiating.
