John Adam Amerson, a.k.a. "Papa John Deere", of Jasper, FL. passed away on April 18, 2023 at his home at the age of 62.

John was a lifelong resident of Hamilton County, FL. He was born on May 2, 1960 to the late Del Eugene and Thelma Zipperer Amerson. He worked as a mechanic and every day that he could, he would make his way up to the shop to get a soda and give Casey advice on how to fix this car or that truck. He had been sick for an extended period of time and was cared for by his loving daughters and his beloved sister, Georgie. He enjoyed the unconditional love of his grandchildren that gave him the name "Papa John Deere".

Survivors include his three daughters, Casey Dampier (Will) of Jasper, FL., Avis Bratcher (Jason) of Perry, FL. and Leanna Amerson of Jasper; his ten brothers and sisters; five grandchildren, Carl Vanzant, Clayburn Adam-Wayne Vanzant, Harley Vanzant, Sarah Kay Bratcher and Javon Amerson; his former wife and friend, Sarah Register.

There will be no formal service. A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
