John Cason Lewis, Sr., 84 years old, passed away on December 20, 2023.  He was a lifelong resident of Jennings, Florida.  He was an iron worker and a welder.  John could do anything he put his mind to.  He served his country in the Marines and spent several years in business with his family.  He enjoyed many years of retirement on his family farm doing things he wanted to do.  He said many times, "Real men don't pick their jobs, they take them as they come."  John hosted his Jennings High School Class of 1957 reunion every year for over 20 years.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends.

John is preceded in death by his parents, James Darrell and Eddie Johns Lewis and his wife of 40 years, Mary Fender Lewis.  Mary and Johnny were always together and now they are together again.  he is survived by his son John Cason Lewis, Jr., daughter-in-law Rosanne Blanchett Lewis, son Terry Bennett, Sister-in-Laws Eula S. Lewis, Jean F. Griffey and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 22, at 2:00 p.m. at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL with a visitation just before at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the service at New Hope Cemetery in Jennings, FL.
