Obituary

Juanita Louise Holton Pittman, age 88, of Jennings, FL. passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center in Jasper, FL. Juanita was born on August 5, 1930 in Hamilton County to the late Owen and Mattie Wynn Holton. Following graduation from high school she married the love of her life, James Pittman, Jr. with whom she just celebrated 70 years of marriage.
Juanita loved being a mother to her four children and was fortunate enough to be home with them when they were growing up. Later she enjoyed her time working for Kayo McGhin at Kayo's Drug Store in Jasper and later at Belk's Department Store in Valdosta after the children were grown. She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. Juanita was preceded in death by her son, Greg Pittman.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, James; one son, Gary Owen Pittman and his wife Gloria of Jennings, FL.; her two daughters, Tammy Moffses and her husband Tom of Jennings, FL. and Angela Akerman and her husband Mark of Hoover, AL.; her sister, Betty Scarbrough of Jasper, FL.; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
