Obituary

June Connie Law Burnam, a beloved member of the Hamilton County community, passed away on August 5, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on November 9, 1949, in Genoa, FL, to Jesse and William Henry Law, Connie lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service to others.

Connie dedicated many years of her life to the Hamilton County School Board, serving as Head Custodian at Hamilton County High School. More than just a caretaker of the school grounds, she was a mentor, guide, and source of encouragement and nourishment for countless students over the years. Her kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Connie had a passion for gardening and spent much of her free time tending to her beautiful yard. She was also a member of the local Red Hat Society.  Her love for her family ran deep, and she eagerly anticipated family gatherings when she could spend time with her loved ones.

Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Burnam, Jr. "Buddy"; her son, Joe H. Hunter, Jr. "Jody"; her brothers, Carl Law, Carol Law, Charlie Law and Jule Law; her sister, Corless Land; and two infant grandsons, Dustin and Joshua Harvey.

Connie is survived by her daughters, Sue Cox (Jeff) of Jasper and Tina Harvey of Jasper; her step-daughter, Rebecca Johnson (Curt) of Valdosta, GA; her step-son, Benjamin Burnam of Jennings, FL; her brother, Jerome Law of Genoa, FL; her sisters, Charlotte Fennell of Jasper and Joyce Shaw of White Springs, FL; and her grandchildren: Jeffery Cox (Jenny), Jacob Cox (Alicia), Joe Hunter, III, Neomia Hunter (B.J.), Baker "Caleb" Hunter (Alexis), Jackson Cox, Tyler Johnson, Dustin Johnson, and Lacee Burnam. She is also survived by her nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces of nephews.

A graveside service to honor Connie's life will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Law Cemetery in White Springs, FL, at 11:00 a.m. Connie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
