Obituary

Karen Ann Peterson, a member of the Jasper, FL community, passed away on June 12, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on September 30, 1950, in McRoss, West Virginia, to Charles and Lillian Chapman, Karen's life was characterized by her boundless energy and commitment to helping others.

Karen was a multi-talented individual who excelled in various roles. She was a Mary Kay Cosmetics salesperson, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a Mother Advisor of the International Order of the Rainbow Girls. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jasper. Karen's hobbies included reading, playing cards, and cheering for the Gator Football team.

Before moving to Hamilton County, FL, Karen worked as a nurse at Port St. Lucie Medical Center, where she was known for her dedication and compassion. Despite her busy schedule, she always made time for her family, especially having lunch with her sister.

Karen is survived by her loving daughter, Karen Peterson of Jasper; her brother, Charles Clifford Chapman, Jr. (Debbie) of Port St. Lucie; her sister, Jackie Sue Wright (John) of Jasper; her cherished grandchildren, Joshua Peterson and Alora Peterson; and her dear aunt, Shirley Cochran of Palm City, FL. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly. Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Rae.

The family is planning a memorial service to honor and celebrate Karen's life to be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Jasper, FL at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Jasper.  Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
