Katherine Rose Rowe Meess, age 81, of Jasper, FL. passed away on December 23, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Katherine Rose was a native of Brooklyn, New York and worked as a nursing aide and physical therapy aide. As a single mother at the time, Katherine met Ronald Meess, who was a single father at the time and the two married and successfully merged their families together. Katherine made the decision to be a stay-at-home mother for her children and wife to her husband. They made their home in Central, Florida for many years before retiring to Jasper, Florida. One would have to agree Jasper was a big change from a fast-growing Central Florida and certainly was a big change for the Brooklyn born girl but she came to love it and all the many friends that they made along the way. In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting antiques, Indian artifacts, metal detecting and bottle digging. Katherine was preceded in death by her son, Frank Rowe, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald "Rocky" Meess; four daughters, Genel Lynn Rowe, Deborah Rowe Johannesen, Margaret Susan "Peggy" Rowe, Louise "Ala" Rowe; her step-daughters, Mary Margaret Meese and Mickey Marie Affron; her brother, Gary Kane; her grandchildren, Luke Hartman, Walter Omanseik, Jr., Michael Omanseik, Michael Johannesen, Dawne Rowe, Frank Rowe, Jr., Christopher Rowe, Alana Wadell and Micah Lewis, five step-grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren altogether.

Per her wishes, Katherine was cremated and private memorials will be held at a later time.
