Kevin Shawn Hotchkiss, age 59, of Jennings, FL. passed away at Malcom Randall Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. on Wednesday, November 18, 2020.

Kevin was born in Homestead, Fl. on October 16, 1961 to Edward Hotchkiss and the late Betty Lilja Hotchkiss. As a young man Kevin joined the United States Navy and served his country for a time. Kevin earned his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing Management and decided to pursue a career in the restaurant business. He trained under several world-renowned chefs before opening Sunrise Café in Land O'Lakes. He not only owned and operated the café, he and his wife Lisa worked together catering large events in the community. They retired to Hamilton County to be near family and before he knew it, he was being encouraged to open a restaurant. The community was thrilled when he and wife Lisa opened Crossroads Market and Grill. They branched out with jobs catering events and providing meals when large amounts of food were needed. During storms when power was out at homes across the community, Kevin and Lisa would open up and serve from the grill so that power workers, fire departments, deputies and volunteers could have a hot meal. When Huddle House decided to close their doors, Kevin and Lisa saw an excellent opportunity to move closer to the interstate with the opening of Front Porch Café hoping to draw more people off of the interstate into our county. When Kevin was not working, he enjoyed playing cards and spending time with friends and family. One of the last gifts God granted Kevin was to walk his daughter  Megan down the aisle at her wedding on November 7, 2020.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Lisa Hanson Hotchkiss; his son, Jason Hotchkiss (Kendra); his two daughters, Edie Xiong (Teng) and Megan Hotchkiss (Justin McCune); his father, Edward Hotchkiss; three brothers, Paul, Glen and Brian Hotchkiss; his four grandchildren, Connor, Kaidy, Wyatt and Oliver.

Memorial services were held on Monday, November 23, 2020 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL. with Bro. Gary Abbott officiating.

Per his wishes, Kevin was cremated.
